  1. I am not a chemist - but this is how I understand it.

10% ethanol isn’t nearly as corrosive as E85 (86% ETOH).

My guess (and it’s simply guess work) is that the methods of extracting the ETOH have improved making it more cost effective, esp. in the face of rising dyno fuels. I’d guess that at the 10% concentration it’s also fairly safe to put into the tankers to transport it.

Yes, burning “food” makes food prices go up, but as long as we (the US) produce enough for US, and manage to stabilize food and fuel prices - IMO we’re good to go.

If the plan is to take care of our citizens, that’s what we’re doing, or at least attempting to do.

So far as the rest of the world (who already hates us, and a large percentage of them WANT US ALL DEAD) goes, who gives a crap? Yes, the US has always fed the rest of the planet in terms of giving away food and aid. We’ve played the game of cultural equality, worldwide, even when it’s obviously not true. And what has it gotten us? Jihad. A hostile UN. An ever contracting circle of “friends” that we have to pay off with food, money and weapons.

As for free food for the rest of the world, I’m saying “No.”.

If the rest of the planet chooses to use oil, cheap labor, and whatever goods it can export as “weapons” to try to control the actions of the US and/or to “gouge” every dime it can out of us, why should we feed them for free? Why should we not use food as a weapon?

Is it a horrible thing to watch countries and populations starve? Absolutely.

Is it somehow better to feed them and then have them preach hatred and economic warfare, as well as physical warfare on US. No. It’s worse.

I heard someone say of citizen criminals in prison once “F-em, feed ‘em fish heads.” That’s about the way I feel about the rest of the world.

Yes, it’s unpopular, but I think it’s high time the US looked out for itself.

The rest of the world wants us gone. Let’s let them taste what that would be like.

  4. Thank you Macker. That one crossed my mind in a nanosecond. I was going to mention it, but I figured such a statement wouldn’t be Kosher. Nyuk nyuk nyuk.
