  1. I got caught driving in that mess late yesterday afternoon, starting in Kansas City heading east.  Just about every accident I saw or vehicle in the ditch was an SUV.  People with 4-wheel drive believe they’re invincible in this stuff.  What they don’t realize is that when they start to skid or slide, their 4X4 drive train actually works against them and makes it almost impossible to recover the vehicle.  Unless your a professional driver and can “feather” the gas to get the drive wheels to match vehicle speed, your not going to control it.

  2. Here in Maryland they’re calling for an inch of snow. Can’t wait to see if that actually happens and if it does, how everyone reacts to it. I’m told drivers around here are friggin nuts when it comes to snow.

BobF, not everyone with 4WD feels invincible, though I’ll agree many do feel that way. I grew up in Kentucky so I had my fair share of driving in snow. We have 4WD on our GMC Jimmy but the only time I really use it in the winter is when we’re going up to my parents house after it’s snowed (an uphill gravel driveway) On snow covered highway roads, I take it slow and keep a light touch on the brakes.

  3. Well Skipper it is indeed Glowball Warming here it is the 21st of January and we (Cincy OH) finally have the real first snowfall. That is just proof to this skeptic that ole Al’flyingeverywheretotoutimpendinggwdoom’Gore is right.  wink

As soon as the sleet which is now coming down stops, we will go out and try to shovel a path down our drive for the AM - which I doubt will happen since this mess is not suppose to stop until after Midnight.

Oh well, it was bound to happen. My guess is that this summer it will be as hot as the foyer of hell and not a drop of rain to be seen. Which is ironic, because our ground is so saturated that it can not absorb anything more - as it only just stopped raining.

To me, yes we humans have done our little bit of disrespect, damage and mayhem to Mother Earth (take NYC & LA as prime examples, not to mention Gary IN) but weather changes, if you look at the overview, according to those who still have their brains in their heads - this is a standard pattern that has gone on over and over and over again. I don’t see ole Mr.’Screaming about the environment’Gore selling his excess homes, vehicles and using mass tran or a bike for his lifestyle - what a lying hypocrite. And until he (and the rest pushing their mumbojumbo) do - I will believe more in God, Mother Nature and weather patterns than in Glowball Warming.

  4. "Why don’t we all go find Al Gore and beat the living snot out of him.”

For this, you need a reason?

  5. Egads, my first day off since the beginning of December and what am I doing? Getting drunk as I was looking forward to. NO! Thanks to AlGore opening his mouth and causing ‘global warming’ I’m out shoveling 3 inches of snow.

Oh yeah, the ‘global warming’ weathercasters only predicted an inch of snow.

I did some research on ‘global warming’. The ‘percieved’ increase in global temp is about 0.6Celsius. The alleged mean temp for the globe is 14+-0.7Celsius.

In otherwords, the alleged increase in temp is within the margin of error!

  6. Still no real winter yet here in NJ. It’s been below freezing several times, and we’ve had 3 or 4 overnight dustings of the white stuff. More like frozen dew than real snow. Always melted away by noon. In my opinion it isn’t a real snowfall if the stuff can’t stick around a whole 24 hours. I’m sure we’ll get ours sooner or later.

  7. I feel sorry for the postman digging his way through the snow with the goverment warning papers on glowball warning.

  8. Expecting 1-3 inches of snow here and people are right the frick flipping out here. Geezus, I thought my home state was bad about snow but this place takes the cake. Made the mistake of going to the local grocery store to pick up a few breakfast things and the Sunday paper. Place was a damned zoo.

Just so happens that the kids are out of school tomorrow (teachers inservice day) so I guess we’ll be out playing in the snow.  LOL

  9. Just run ALgore over with a snowplow…

So, CAL gets snow, and a freeze. Ditto for AZ, NM, TX, NV, etc.

Meanwhile MA. NY and NH has little or no snow (thank God) on the ground. Go figure…

Must be all that GLOW-BULL warming again… crazy  witch  toilet_monster  laughing_tv
