AMEN
(OINK repeats himself) Story is told that the German monks were worried that beer was inappropriate for monastic life—too jolly-making. So they sent a sample to the Vatican for them to decide the issue. The Italian Cardinals were accustomed to sweet wine. They took one taste of the beer and wrote back, “You may drink as much of this shit as you wish! Especially as a Penance.” God is Good.
My dad went to Oktoberfest back in 1969...and he told me later as I was growing up that at Oktoberfest, you rent the beer! Strange....
Seems like a lot of Germans have much to drink about this year too: both their economy and foreign policy are in the crapper, and of course there are the Muslims. But will they be sober enough to vote Herr Schroeder’s ass out of office? We’ll find out soon enough.
I got the impression that Schroeder thought he could be another Stresemann. If so, he failed wretchedly. If anything, he may have only assured that there will be another Bruening, and then a Papen, and then a Schleicher, and then.....
(shudder)
Did someone forget to turn off the bold font?
Devil Weed! Snare of Satan! Mari-ju-wanna. They should lock you guys up.
I always feel soooo much safer when I read of a local pot bust.
The young gal in the foreground (you maybe noticed her tits?) also has major theological significance.
Has she now? I will confess a certain architectural interest....
That’s the third time this week that OCM forgot to close the bold font on his comments. OCM, if you ain’t gonna close ‘em, don’t open ‘em. If you do it again, I’m gonna change your avatar to a picture of an ignorant MESS-CAN!
Architecture, my . That’s the nicest set of I’ve seen in a long time. Sigh.
Maybe I should have said “a certain sculptural interest.”
DUDE! Re: BOLD FONT - When you get to a certain age, PLUS your eyes are red and irritated from the acrid smoke, the bold font is sine qua non.
OCM: the SUBMIT button closes the comment but doesn’t close any open tags. There is a “Close Tags” button below that does that. Do that before you click “Submit”.
As for not coming up before, maybe its’ just Alzheimer’s creeping up on you?
As for your IE browser, I just don’t know. Maybe Oink infected it with the SAMID virus? Hmmmmmm ...... now there’s something I hadn’t thought of. Maybe we should vaccinate our browsers against HOG-WARTS!!!
P.S. We’re all , dontcha know?
P.P.S. The “Preview” button is your friend.
Alzheimers --Isn’t it great? All the new people you get to meet!!
Close Tags ? Follow-up Comments? Smart Notification??? WTF?
Skipper! What happened to the “swine” Smiley????!!!! A whole row is gone!!!
OINK: the swine smiley is still there. It may be in another position because I had to re-size the Smiley window to hold all the new ones.
OCM: thanks for sending me that link. I gabbed what I thought were the best ones. Great minds think alike?
(SKIPPER, either that or you’re both suffering from the same mental problems!)
Aw, SHUDDUP!
<<<<<<<<<<<<< With this single exception PRETTY AWESOME SKIPPER!!!
Ummm… beer and breasts…
Breasts… the other white meat…
Kiss an angel Good Morning…
Yea, OCM .. WTF ? How is this chasing, or chasing with, a hatchet:
Don’t hit him, OCM, you might hurt the hatchet…
Tann: re your comments 7 & 10— (vs. architecture) sculpture being more “hands on”
Speaking of God and beer, a minister once told me that Martin Luther had the Ten Commandments engraved on his beer steins. Sounded a little much to me, but I would appreciate it if anyone can provide the truth of this.
Thanks, Oink. I definitely prefer the tactile approach to that sort of sculpture....
As long as the Germans are more interested in than world conquest, it’s alright with me
LC RP
Oh, yeah, nice superstructure on the babe in the foreground
Rat: If she spills any of that beer (down her front, say) plenty of us would volunteer to help her wipe it off. No hands!
