The system has long been gamed by the lawyers to create a system where:
1. Only lawyers may practice law
2. Politicians are almost entirely made up of lawyers, so a defacto rule of “Only lawyers may WRITE law” exists
3. Law is written in a complex and hard to follow language spoken by lawyers, so that a defacto situation of “Only lawyers UNDERSTAND the law” (which should be a legitimate defense for laymen at this point)
4. Nomatter what you’re doing, a law exists somewhere that turns you into a criminal so that you can become a line item in the penal system’s budget if you annoy the wrong person. This is one hell of a chilling effect on potential civil behavior (or misbehavior however it’s popularly defined by the god damned lawyers at the time.)
I’m going to point you to an entry in what I call “The Jake Files”. A friend of mine and I have these kinds of conversations all the time, and this one definitely boils down to conversational ender # 1: Bloody Revolution.

I don’t remember who aid it but it went something like this:
“The lawyers will be first against the wall when the revolution comes.”
Was’t it Bill Cosby that said “I brought you into this world and I’ll take you out!”
Nah that was his dad…
