4. If you’re gonna ‘preserve’ your ‘cultural heritage’, ban all foods prior to 1492. That’s the year that Columbus discovered America…

   …and tomatos

   …and potatos

   …and corn (maize)

   I could go one. Tobacco? I don’t like it myself, but…

   Preserve your cultural heritage. No foods that didn’t exist before 1492.

   None of the above would be part of your diet if an Italian, operating under the authority of the King of Spain, hadn’t discovered the ‘New World’.
