  1. Why do we pay them to shut down?  In a real world...the laws of supply and demand would prevail.  If there is enough energy to go around and someone is still bringing more to market, then the price would fall.  In fact, the worth of the product would be ZERO since everyone has as much as they need and NO ONE is buying anymore. 

    The choice to shut down would be by the person doing the producing of the good or service that is no longer wanted.  Cheaper to shut down and go home for the day then to produce something that nobody wants. 

    But NOOOOOO, instead, we spend taxpayer money to pay someone to NOT produce anything.  Thus, wasting taxpayer money and artificially keeping the cost of this energy high. 

    Does common sense not apply?  I give up.
