2. Good job we banned handguns eh? What’s that you say? Now only the criminals have handguns? Who’d a thunk it? I am not convinced about arming the police here given how inept many of them are, but I would support the death penalty being restored.

6. My sister in the States is (for some reason) anti-gun and when the subject comes up she always falls back on the old: “See England and Ireland, where is almost impossible to own a handgun or assault rifle, the murder rate is much lower than in the U.S....yada-yada-yada.”

   I can’t concince her that it would be easier, but maybe not as cheap, for me to buy a semi-auto handgun in North Dublin than it would for me in New Jersey.

   I’m sure this is true for all the larger cities and town in the UK as well.

7. I always thought the German Police (Polizei) had the right approach to it - granted they are in a socialist country where the rights of each side are different than in the USA, but they get to walk around carrying pistols, nice little spring loaded rubber batons, and Uzis.

   It’s a no nonsense method of Police work - fail to follow instructions, watch my baton bounce off your head 20 times. Pull a gun - I shoot you back, with more bullets.

   Can’t believe the Brit’s would let the Germans beat them at something like this.
