3. Widespread panic? Keep dreaming dingbat. We may have had 4 to 8 hours of mild confusion and a bit of trepidation, but that’s it. And most of that was either little kids or talking heads on the news.

   I don’t think Americans overreacted. I think, if anything, their government under reacted and did NOT reflect the will of the people. Had they done that, the War On Terror would have lasted about 2 weeks, and large parts of the Middle East would be a fairy land of magical glass sculptures these days.

   So, what is this woman doing? Saying that the Brits are beat down, and like any woman in an abusive relationship, used to shutting up and keeping in her place? Because The Troubles were over a generation ago, and far more of it went on over there (N.I.) than over here (Eng). Hey, let’s bring the Blitz into it, because so many Brits are still around from those days too. Not. Load a crap. Get the body count going and the bombs going off, and your typical Tommy will be howling for blood.

5. Widespread panic - what a real morroon. Most Americans sent Financial Donations, gave blood, went to church or VOLUNTEERED to help. The majority of the search and rescue dogs died fairly quickly after 9/11 due to the amalgamation of chemicals and dust that they had to stand in day after day in an attempt to find those who survived the collapse.

   I don’t know what ‘over reaction’ she is talking about - but the UK joined our coalition - so go figure on wth she is talking about at all.

   And American universities are NOT predominantly male any more. True and has been for decades that universities are a hotbed of radicalization.

   Personally - since we did not nuke Afghanistan til it glowed nor kicked every muslim living in America out on 9/11 - I don’t think the we over reacted at all.

   BTW, just for grins - all the main men of al -Qaeda - are from rich and educated families. They all just tend to use the ignorant young dis-enfranchised men to die ‘for the cause’.

Look, guys, I am so conservative that (in the words of a 40-year friend) I view the John Birch Society as a somewhat leftish organization.  HOWEVER, I’m not so sure that I disagree with everything the the Oxford lady said.  Remember what the first 6 letters of the word “terrorism” are… I was in Manhattan on 9/11, I saw it all.  It was just a matter of miscommunication that I was not giving a speech at the Investment Technology conference on the 107th floor of the North Tower when the first plane hit it.

   But SERIOUSLY, why do you think we have to show up at the airport 2 hours early?  Why can we not carry shampoo in our carry-on bags?  Why do you think we have to TAKE OUR SHOES OFF? 

   BECAUSE THEY WON, DAMMIT!
