The good Sheriff has been protecting the kid’s mother, she works for Pima County. I guess if he makes enough noise, blaming the conservatives, he thinks no one will ever find out the fault is his for refusing to prosecute Loughner months ago when he had the chance.
Even the Washington Post has noticed, but they’re not being very loud about it yet.
A little research will show that Sheriff Dupnik (would you believe that name in a TV show?) had multiple occasions and reasons to bust Loughner and didn’t.
