  3. Man you two had me laffing this AM. Glad I don’t hold coffee at the keyboard.
Well said both. Interesting comment on “zero Barrack” in one of the papers. Oh yeah, I read he’s sending about 100 special forces guys to help in the hunt for some guy wanted by world court for crimes (which btw he really is guilty of) in some afrika trouble spot. Well I think it’s that deep hole. Your tax dollar hard at work Rich.

  4. OK… The country he sent our guys to is Uganda and it’s 150 not 100. Now then, can anyone tell me what the difference is between Special Forces and Special Operations troops. Cause that’s how it’s being reported. 100 Spec. forces and 150 Special ops.

  5. Well, for starters, that’s 100 + 150 = 250 troops altogether.

  6. And this story of Transniestria/Transnistria/Pridnestrovie/Trans-Dniester was exactly why Stalin did what he did. The “Russianization” of all the satellite nations. During Soviet times, the forced influx of tens of thousands of Russians changed the very character of the occupied state. Decades later, even when USSR went to hell, those people and their generations were still there, even if they never integrated with the original inhabitants. Assuming no “ethnic cleansing”, even if they were mistreated and shuffled off into a corner (eg Ukraine) they still retained their Russian-ness, and if stripped of the trappings of their force-adopted country, they could be relied upon to press to become Russians once again.

Dollars to borscht, this is exactly what is happening in Transnistria. This is the absolute downside of enclaving and non-assimilation of a foreign immigration.

Oh, it may even be worse. Read this and Google up more. Interesting.  Read this as well to get up to speed on the whole area’s situation. More?.
