  2. Lovely bones on this one. Such a nice face. So pretty. Nice everything else too.

As for the link, and the “dangers” of Lasik, I’ll try and get my wife to comment, as she works for a renowned eye surgeon. It is not the ultimate miracle cure-all, and some side effects like dry eye and halos do occur. Patients are given this information, but not every one of them actually listens. Then they complain later. On the other hand, not every surgery goes perfectly, and some patient’s eyes have secondary conditions which only come to light post-surgery.

And no, Lasik doesn’t last forever. It’s great when you’re 18 or 22, but by the time you hit your 50s and your eye’s ability to accommodate slows way down, Lasik won’t do much for you. Some people need it done twice, as their eyes age.

  3. lol Rich.  I may need to lock myself away somewhere. Perhaps a nice warm cave provided I can have all the comforts of home.

Very frustrating lately and feeling under the weather makes things worse.
Something about this particular young lady I really like. As Drew says, everything really.
Just had to post it. Took my mind off the usual anti-American diatribes I’ve been exposed to, especially in reader comments in the papers.
And .. to really, really turn up the RCOB thingy, I read today that the USA was advised correctly, CORRECTLY mind you, by Arabs no less, with regard to the Gitmo prisoners.
They also wanted to know why the American Navy bothered to rescue two Iranian drug smugglers instead of letting them drown. Good question.

  4. Wife says that the terms in the article are used improperly. “Floaters” absolutely can NOT be the result of Lasik surgery because they exist in an entirely different chamber of the eyeball than where the laser is working.

The bad night vision is also a misnomer; the woman had to be referring to glare halos caused by streetlights and oncoming headlights. This is not at all poor night vision, but difficulty with driving at night.

We do not know who can do eye surgery in the UK, but in the USA only a ophthalmic surgeon (an ophthalmologist) has that power. NOT an optician or an optometrist, not EVER.

Wife says this is a poorly written piece, and that, once again as is so often the case, it’s a matter of eye patients NOT hearing the warnings and information about the limits of the surgery because they don’t want to. Lasik is NOT a 100% guaranteed miracle. Glare halos are common for most people for about a year. While dry eye can be another side effect, many millions of people out there have dry eye who have not had Lasik or any kind of eye surgery.

Personally, I will never have this surgery. Nor will my wife. I won’t even wear contacts. I wear glasses. So what? Deal with it. Actually, if you have to “deal with it” then you are some kind of freakazoid racist with control issues. I don’t even notice them, so why should you?
