Now what?

1. Ouch. It looks like we might have a problem.

   News to the EU: AN ORGANIZATION OR BODY THAT EFFECTS SUCH GROUND-SHATTERING EFFECTS WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED CAN ONLY BE CONSIDERED TO HAVE STEPPED BEYOND ITS STATION!

   As for the Libyan terrorists, look on the bright side. In Libya, there is the chance they would have escaped and vanished. There is loud and vocal support for them, and even the Krazy Colonel is lukewarm in his opposition of them.

   Also, I would disagree that crazy Adolph got wrong the point of the US-Soviet War. Within MONTHS of the Fuhrer’s descent into hell, the Western Allies and the Soviets engaged in a shooting war along the Elbe that lasted a full month and saw hundreds of thousands of casualties (fortunately mostly Soviet).

   And even after Stalin’s defeat in those battles convinced him to stop OPENLY attacking the US and her Allies, he still handed out the bullets that would kill NATO soldiers in Korea, Indochina, Indonesia, Algeria, and Greece. And this went on for forty years.

   On the plus side, A dominant Germany in Europe is far more in line with Democratic ideals than it would have been had it happened in the time of Bismarck, the Kaiser, or Hitler.

   Germany is a democracy. Certainly, a democracy struggling with statism, corruption, and other ills, but that is preferable to ye olde Jackboot.

   However, even if the EU is not an authoritarian regime currently (and it certainly has made some actions that should give pause), it could all-too-easily transition to one if left unchecked.

   Montesqieu proposed the separation of Powers for a reason. Every true democracy has followed his design for a reason. And having such a closed clique as the European Parliament dictating universal policy is something that is just begging to be exploited by whatever tyrant is waiting in the wings, planning to use it.
