  1. I so want to make some spelt bread - but doing Keto(ish) - try to tamp down that bread love as much as I can. I’ve not liked sourdough much, but bread is bread - I rarely turn down any offered. Which is why I had to drop 20 pounds!

    Looks good though.

It’s been a month since we’ve seen Joey - when it turns 60 here in couple of days (it was freezing this am) - I will do another, longer walkabout with a flash light and see if I can find his body. Sissy is sick - just like he was - so I doubt she will last this winter. She just stood there yesterday - so I reached out to pet her and she hissed. Cats are so ungrateful for all you do for them. I’m moving the cat house into the back yard. And when she dies - I’m not so sure I’m going to keep food out. Hollywood has a home up the street (I’ve seen him a couple of times) and Fluffy only comes during the week when apparently his human puts him out while at work. Although he was here this AM - I thought it was Sissy until he came out from behind the trash can. Of course that was when Sissy came running up and chased him away. Cats. Impolite to everyone else.

  2. Sorry to hear you outdoor furries aren’t doing well. It’s a tough life outdoors for kittehs.

G cat, our outdoor guy we call Ginger, is still with us after nearly 5 years. Ungrateful, not very friendly, rather spooky, but not vicious. Totally ungrateful of course; it’s not like we haven’t fed him at least twice a day since before he was even born at the top of the stairs, or built him warm, dry, and cozy winter quarters every year. And provided a heated feeding dish, protected from the weather, with clean warm food and water. That’s cats. If he wasn’t so handsome he’d really suck.

Sometimes he comes begging for food. Sometimes he turns his nose up. When he doesn’t eat it, the raccoons and the opossums chow it down. The other day I saw him pounce a mouse, so at least he knows how to hunt when he wants to.

  3. I haven’t seen any wilds lately other than one of the raccoon babies from last year. Neighbor had to kill the biggest one - tore into his roof. Finally trapped it and it took two men to get it off the roof. I told them drowning is the fastest and least messy way to dispose of them. They are so silly sometimes and cute to watch - but after that afternoon adventure - I lost all concern for them. Don’t want to encourage them at all. Which is why I put the cat food on the front ramp rather than in the back.

Yeah I’m bummed about the cats - especially Joey - he was so a victim of whatever problem his human had and it had to be tough to be inside one minute and out forever the next. I kept hoping I could break through and get him the help he needed. No such luck - but I kept him going for almost 4 years beyond what he would have/should have had. I’m just most angry at people who knew about the cats and didn’t even bother to call the SPCA. What do they think that the cats can do - with the number I’ve seen around here over the years - there aren’t that many mice and birds to keep them going. This is a built up area that is even increasing even more lately. I guess some people really are stupid or don’t care.

And they all call a guy who stepped up to run for President evil and corrupt. Way too many people need to look in a mirror now and then.
