2. ET2 Christopher here. 6 year veteran of operating nuclear power plants. Specifically onboard the USS Truxtun (CGN-35) Shutting down a nuke plant is no big deal. Nor is restarting them. They can be restarted almost instantly. I’ve done this several times under simulated combat conditions. Time from shutdown to restart: less than 5 minutes.
