  1. Everything was fine, peiper, until I hit ‘Continue Reading’.

Now, I’ve certainly dated a few BBW (big beautiful women) when I was single. In high school and college I dated a couple who my friends called ‘sweet spirits’. They were indeed, but it was considered an insult. My friends were harassing me. (note: I attended BYU for two years.)

But ‘Continue Reading’ got into the ‘too much’ range; at least for me. They start looking like Mom and not women. Not into that.

  2. And this is why you should never get all worked up over those face pictures on the singles web sites.

  3. Chris ...T’was meant as a bit of a giggle as the Brits might say. A touch of humor, I thought.  btw ... my mom never looked like them. In fact, she looked kind of glamorous at times.

  4. My youngest daughter is a size 0 - and gets hounded day in and day out (anorexia, bulimia, eat a Big Mac, etc) - her Dad (my hubby) never weighed above 130 in his life - won a lot of his wrestling in school simply because there was no one in his weight group - never is. Tough guy who spent 23 years in the Army. I was a 5 pound baby who was underweight until age 39 when I added 20 pounds virtually overnight (thyroid quit) - we weren’t going to produce a heifer.

It just goes to show how psychotic we humans are about weight/looks/image.

Too bad we are no longer so involved with something more important - character.

  5. Just to show that I am as shallow as guys can be - I only went out once (set up by my brother) with a chubby guy - never was my thing at all - so see I too am shallow and into looks.

However - Sam Elliot (THAT voice) could read the phone book - and I’d buy it!

And yes, I just dated myself. wink

  6. Wardmom, is it really “shallow” to be human and have a preference?  There are guys I’ve read about that raised hell when a wife went on a diet and lost weight, cos he simply liked heavy women and thin didn’t turn him on.  Conversely, many guys can’t get aroused by overweight ladies.  I’ve read there are actually women (who claim) they really do prefer bald men. (I never met any) Now that really surprises me. But it’s what a few say.
Rather then shallow, I’d say it’s a matter of taste and what appeals to us physically.
Drew and I seem to like redheads a lot. BUT ... heck. I’m nuts about women period and married a natural blonde. Which is also kinda funny since I have always been very much drawn to raven haired darker hued women. Especially Asian. Go figure. But seriously overweight just doesn’t light up my life. Overweight is fine. But not really badly so.
