No need for hunting

 

1. 400lb bear is something I wouldn’t want to argue with. Up here in Canuckistan they do shoot a lot of bears. I have to admit it’s not something that interests me. If I was in a spot where it was me or the bear then I would have no hesitation, but I don’t see bears as “game” However when they start coming into suburbia then someone has to do something. There have been a few stories up here about bears coming into peoples houses recenly in Vancouver. Two years ago when we were on holiday here a bear pulled a kid off his bike and mauled him. Mind you the half wit was riding a trail listening to his iPod! That same year I stopped off on a deserted road to take a leak and whilst minding my own business noticed a bloody big bear trundling along about 100yds away. I would estimate this critter at 350-400lbs. Needless to say I didn’t hang around!
