  2. 1) I’d have problems holding and shooting that gun - and I am comfortable and have shot many guns (heck, my hubby’s (short conceal carry .45 - bugs the heck out of me, it feels like it’s exploding in my face). A 2 year old - not buying it.

    2) He left a loaded where a 2 year old could get it - The boyfriend and the mother need to go to jail for life - the ‘murder’ is THEIR FAULT.

    3) The kids found the gun - it was a damn apartment - bet you - the ‘adults’ were doing the horizontal tango and didn’t give a damn what the children were doing. Once again - a 2 year old being able to cock the gun? Not buying it at all.

Although - having seen a ‘woman’ defend the scum that beat the crap out of her 2 year old and then set the baby on fire - OOO7 just might be right. As this was all in a hospital - and the grandparents were there, in horribly emotional state being torn so badly that their child would not even come and see her baby but rather was standing beside the monster who did it (and trying to figure out should they seek custody of the other children).

It is awful what these people do to their children - but then most of them just see them as paychecks.

  3. Actually, a big heavy revolver is a joy to shoot, as long as you can hold it up. Recoil is reduced to a big shove instead of a whipsnake smack.

Using 158gr JFPs and a case full of WW296 or VV110 gives loads that would kill a S&W, but the Ruger eats them with a smile, and I can shoot off 4 or 5 cylinders worth without a rest. By that point, everyone else has run away from the firing line at the indoor range, frightened of the enormous fireball each round generates and the glass shattering, lung deflating, earthquake blast. Oh, it’s sooo good. Mongo gun go FOOOM.

It’s those little flyweight pocket pistols that give people the willies. They bite!

5’3” slender Tara and the big Ruger .357, putting another full power round down range. I never told her that recoil was supposed to be something she couldn’t handle. Instead, she found the whole experience exciting and empowering, and grinning like a madwoman, used up all my ammo in just a short while. These days she owns at least 2 pistols of her own.

  4. The ‘story’ stinks to high heaven. No two year old has the strength to cock a revolver and a .357Magnum has a strong hammer spring. Either the gun was put away cocked (a possibility) or there was horseplay with a loaded gun, aka extreme stupidity. I would wager money that the 14 year old caused the fatal negligent discharge and convinced the 7 year that they should blame the victim and the 2 year old so both can avoid being punished.

Drew, in the photos of Tara, she is holding her wrist with her offhand which accomplishes approximately nothing. Get her to use a proper two-handed grip, it will be much steadier and the strength of both wrists will counter the muzzle flip.  Make sure she doesn’t cross her thumbs, that will cause problems if she fires a semi-automatic.
