I have a suspicion that sex offenders lead the felony population in recidivism. Castration by mallet for his first sex offense would have dulled recidivistic urges, but some pop psycholgist probably pronounced him cured and OK for release.
It’s too late for that poor little girl, but I wish we could treat that dirtbag appropriately.

I just don’t understand why anybody would want to hurt a child like that, much less kill them. AND I DON’T WANT TO!!!
If one commits a crime with a gun, one is thereafter not permitted to legally possess a firearm. That is a good rule.

Oh if it was so easy to blame God, but it is not, we own this problem, as this man at his worst, also this is a reflection of society being too lenient/accepting with this type of animal.
Personally I would use the Iranian crane and gantry, with a barbed wired noose securely entwined around his balls to hang him until he ceased to breathe the same air as me.

I like to have kids gather ‘round while I read to them.
I like teaching kids to play chess.
I like tutoring kids struggling with math, science, or English.
I like taking kids on night hikes with telescopes and binoculars and teaching them about the constellations and other wonders of the universe.
I’ve done all of these with step-kids and the kids at church. These were all things that adults did with kids like me when I was growing up.
I don’t understand the hatred for kids that results in not only stealing their innocence, but then stealing their life.
Suicide watch? Had this been my granddaughter (born this last January), they wouldn’t need a suicide watch, they’d need a Christopher watch.
I’d get him. And, as a private citizen, I’m not bound by the Eighth Amendment. My punishment would be cruel, unusual, and very lengthy.
Such a sad ending for such a beautiful little girl..........Here in St. Louis people are currently searching for a 13 year old mentally disabled girl - it doesn’t look good- she has been missing for about a week..........it breaks your heart...........

I don’t see anything as too cruel or unusual when it comes to dealing with sex offenders that pray on children or murderers.... They should have protection that their victims didn’t have? I don’t Think SO! Luckily Sex offenders that pray on children don’t tend to last long in prison.. just look at Jeffrey Dahmer.. Although now i wish this had happened in Texas.. Because they don’t mess around with carrying out sentences unlike florida which tends to drag it’s feet or let people get in the way too much in murder cases… Ted Bundy was on Death Row for around 10 years, and Danny Rolling has already been on death row about 12 years...Ohh well rant off..

I finally remembered why that picture of Jessica looks so familiar. I have a picture almost exactly like it.
In 1972, when I was twelve and my youngest sister was only eight, our parents took us to King’s Island amusement park. Our first visit. I have a picture from that visit and my baby sister has the exact same expression of joy on her face. The same sparkle in her eyes.
Don’t understand why anyone would want to kill that sparkle.

Yes, seeing that picture and knowing what happened to her brings tears to my eyes and a huge lump in my throat.
I saw her father, grandfather and grandmother on TV today and tonight. My tears flowed for them every time. I am heartbroken for them too.
I cannot think of a truly suitable punishment for the creature that perpetrated this.
Perhaps walling it up in a stone room without food or water. Maybe a cup of water a week to prolong the agony, I dunno. A quick death would be too good for it in any case. A long slow tortured death might not even suffice.

Posing as activists, we flood parole board hearings pleading for the sick bastards to be released upon an unsuspecting public, claiming that they’ve found God while incarcerated.
Once paroled, we kidnap the offender and read the news headline the next week:

Why advertise? Just kidnap them, do the job, and make sure nobody ever finds them. No evidence, no mess, no problem.
I still think my idea for sub-humans like this is a good one. Find a deserted island way out in the middle of the ocean. Make sure it’s big enough to hold several hundred of these guys at a time. Let the Navy use it for target practice bomb runs and gun tests. It would solve two problems: where to put these guys and give the military real targets to practice on. Maybe not so fun for civilians, but then we don’t have to get our hands dirty.

Your idea has merit, however… I like that your idea promotes national security by giving the Navy something to practice shooting at.

I think the message to would-be offenders would be stronger if others of their type just...disappeared. Of course, maybe it would be useful to have a couple of them found in circumstances you describe as an example. “If you rape and murder children, this could happen to you and chances are you would never be found.” Kind of has a ring to it.
