5. I will take this opportunity to appeal to anyone on the right who is disgruntled, pouting, and proposing to “sit this one out,” for any reason whatever.

   Why do you want to sit the election out? “To teach them a lesson?” How are they going to know who sits out and who doesn’t?  Let alone what lesson they need to learn?  Oh, the lesson is the same for all of you?  You are going to teach them that they need you?  Guess what?  They need us all!  And nobody more or less than anyone else.

   We are a team, and nobody is indispensible.  Nobody has been granted the role of prima donna.  There isn’t much the backfield can do if the line doesn’t show up, and vice versa.

   Everyone on the team must play in order for the team to win--and that is the only lesson that can be emphasized, or even suggested, by “sitting this one out.”

   Still want to sit it out?  As a matter of principle, maybe?

   To paraphrase George C. Scott’s speech from Patton:

   “No conservative ever helped his country by losing for his principles.  He helped it by making the liberals lose for their principles.”

   See you at the polls on November 7.
