I bought a 1st generation Palladin night scope and I have to say I was underwhelmed by the performance. I would expect for $3000 this 3rd generation device would be the mutts nuts but at that price I think I will stick with my Leupolds for now!
I have a cheapie $149 “First Gen” night scope, made in USA, it uses a Russian surplus image intensifier tube, ald inexpensive plastic optics. Good for looking at the various night time critters in the back 40, but quite “lame” as compared to the current crop of military NV equipment.
Even with the cheap ones, take a look at the night time sky, you’ll see about a hundred times as many stars as visible with the naked eye.
