  1. Kent Crown Prosecution Service defended its decision to take Mr Toth to court. A spokesman said: ‘The CPS only brings a prosecution if there is enough evidence to provide a reasonable chance of conviction and if the prosecution is in the public interest.’

in the public interest.’WTF? What would be “in the public interest” would be to allow decent, job holding, law abiding citizens the RIGHT TO DEFENSE OF SELF AND OTHERS. This is simply beyond insane, and one of these days the “bough WILL break”. They will find a way to revolt.

  2. The Crown Prosecution Service is known as the Criminal Protection Society by the police in Britain these days.

  3. In the 1950’s USA, that guy would have been able to beat the kid with a switch over his knee and then when the kid got home his daddy would beat him again just for embarrassing the family!  In the 1980’s, my friend got a butt-load of rock salt from a low caliber shotgun for trespassing on a neighbors property. If his father found out, he would have been beat with a leather belt.  Spare the rod and spoil the child…

Of course, the PCness today is not that bad in the USA but a mother whipping a child in a Walmart parking lot or other public place will bring down charges of abuse should someone call the police.

So at least the USA can watch the UK slide into oblivion before we start down the same steep grade right behind them…

  4. Sometimes it’s just better to wait until late at night when the yob goes out and beat the snot out of him with a sack of quarters (or whatever the local currency is), making sure you can’t be identified.

What he did was the right thing.  But the results showed that the right thing is to sometimes break the little bugger’s legs so that he can’t bother anyone else for a few months while in a cast or two.

  5. No quarters here...we call it a board meeting, preferably in a dark parking lot
alone. They effectively get the message.

  6. Coming to a town near you.  I especially like the recent one where the farmer had to take down the barbed wire gaurding his property because theives might have gotten hurt.

  10. I think the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler puts it well:

    Rope. Tree. Punk.

    Some assembly required.

  11. Shoot, Shovel, Shut-up

I rather like that. Always have, actually. My theory is that “they went AWOL with all their gear”.
