According the the movie, “The Incredibles”, this is known as “monologing”.  It is when the Evil Genius believes he has The Hero trapped and is bragging about his Fiendish Plans for the demise of Our Hero.  Then The Hero busts loose and kicks the villian’s ass to Jupiter.  I always like the last part myself.

2. SNL did a good bit on this idea some years ago. All the James Bond villins sat around lamenting that they always have Bond just where they what him, explain thier evil plans to him, leave him to die (they seem not to like to watch) and of course he gets out and...well, you know.
