Oh! The excavation opportunities, and I’m between jobs.
Bukkit list!
You know, satellite photography has identified several lost cities in South America. Most of which remain unexcavated. I’m surprised it hadn’t been trained on Egypt before.
Now that they’ve been located, they are now targets for destruction by the MoBros MoFos (Or should that be MoFos MoBros?) while they chant:
الجميع يمارس الجنس مع بعقب!
بعقب! بعقب! بعقب اللعنة!
Nice.
Dr. Parcak has been doing this for years now ...
http://www.livescience.com/1568-ancient-egyptian-city-spotted-space.html
and she’s also the one who had the brilliant idea of using those same satellites to find water sources, figuring correctly that they’d be more likely to have ancient cities around them. Smart lady. Pretty good for a girl from Bangor Maine, via Trinity College etc. Web pages, social networks, books published, visiting lectures, associate proffessorship, field work - she’s making a name for herself at a strong clip. You go Dr. P!
Macker has a good point. While there was extensive looting done during Egypt’s recent upheaval, there was even more vandalism and destruction. And it’s not like hordes of punks flew in from Paris and Bristol to make a mess of things. It was done by crazy muzzy Egyptians, just like when the Taliban blew up those ancient Buddhas in Afghanistan. Muslims can not abide any history that does not include their pedophile prophet. Dr. Parcak has mapped a large part of the country, and given the government the map. When the MB takes over, and you know they will, it will be a prescription for disaster.
Tanis?!?
That’s where the Well of Souls is. Look out for the snakes...and any shady Frenchmen, but I repeat myself.
I’d like to see them try to beat the atom bomb like Dr. Jones did back in ‘57!
