  2. OCM, ya old wiseguy, the Indians have their own horses and compete just like everyone else! LOL

  4. I just need a horse - oh and is a revolver a requirement - don’t own any of those! Oh well I guess I can just enjoy the pictures.

Indians, OCM - now real skill is riding a speeding horse while drawing and shooting an arrow.

BTW, did you see the R. Lee Ermy Lock And Load episode where he attempted to shoot from a horse? Interesting.

  5. OCM, would that flick be called redsploitation these days? The reviews, written by the local folks on the res where it was filmed said it was a crock.

And this post has absolutely nothing to do with any kind of race relations. It’s about a woman who achieved the pinnacle of an unusual sport.

Wardmama - yes, and he was pretty bad at it. It takes loads of practice I’m sure. Even for the horse! I’m sure the first time you fire a gun behind his head, you go flying when he freaks out! When I first found the story, I was going to make the suggestion that wax bullets could be used instead of blanks. These are pressed out of paraffin blocks and seated into charged cases. They only fly about 25-30 yards, but they’re fairly accurate out to 10-15 yards. Use them and you would really have to be a good shot to win this event, instead of relying on something akin to a flaming shotgun. But it would make for hard viewing, since you’d need an arena field 5 times the size so that the audience wasn’t put at risk.
