  1. Didnt we see this kind of bullet in a bugs bunny cartoon back in the 60s?
Still pretty cool though but god help us if the bad guys get them.

  2. I have deep concerns about new systems that replace several existing systems. A weapon like this would replace a rifle, a grenade launcher, and perhaps even a squad level mortar and machine gun. What happens when it breaks? What happens when Charley swarms your position?

How much do those dildo sized rounds weigh? How many can a soldier carry around? How much does the damn thing cost, and the ammo too at “only £15.50” each? That’s $25 a shot, instead of the pennies that 5.56 or 7.62 cost.

The cartridge itself looks rather odd, with a massively thick case head, an enormous extractor groove, and a belt. I can understand the belt, as the thing has to headspace off of something, and the cartridge has no rim or shoulder. It doesn’t look like it has any velocity either. I’m betting that the bullet is barely supersonic.

And if the round can be steered around corners, under cover, and so forth, isn’t it just a damned expensive way of admitting that our guys can’t shoot or judge distance for crap? Whatever happened to “sustained and accurate rifle fire”?

So now I’ll go look at the link and see if my fears were ungrounded. I didn’t like the XM8, I still don’t like the 5.56 in anything, and I simply hate it in a stubby carbine. Total waste of effort.

  3. I think I agree with Drew.
Also a wounded (not stunned) enemy is more beneficial.  It consumes more enemy time and resources.

  4. Stun them, then beat them to death with pork shanks!
    Bwahahahah!

  5. Well, assuming your enemy actually treats his wounded. If he just uses them for suicide charges or to hold the gap during a retreat, then it doesn’t cost him much.

  6. hubby still asleep however I will get his opinion later - meantime here is mine (don’t forget the beloved son (oldest child) is in the ‘Stan as we speak) - Damn *#E_)@+ li(e)brals attempting to turn WAR INTO A F*)#ING VIDEO GAME!

Pass a damn takeover of all food production - attempting to get every single person on crappy DMV/IRS style healthcare, and about to pass a law that will effectively destroy any border or rights of citzens to open the door to every 3rd World welfare fraud, drug dealing gang banger and radical extremist terrorist who happens to be islamic - all for the final coup-de-gras - full takeover of life as we know it by the lying, thieving, cheating 536 crapweasels in DC. [btw, in light of the Pentagon ‘study’ when asked directly - should the DADT be repealed - 63% of the active duty military (68% of Marines) - say NO - I can’t wait to see what the Pentagon is basing it’s ‘the majority are for repeal’] America is being run by gov fiat - We The People must rise up before it is too late.
