3. My students are always overwhelmed by the Holocaust.  I read to them accounts of human skin lamp shades, how soap was made out of human bodies, how the cut hair from camp inmates was used to insulate the hulls of U-Boats.  I show them videotape of piles of corpses.

   I teach the lesson that whenever you declare someone to be less than human, then you have embarked upon the road to Dachau.  It can happen at any time to any group.

   I show my students the killing fields of Cambodia and the mass graves of Iraq.

   That Iranian asshat should realize that many people in this world might view him as a candidate for the soap dish.

I visited Auschwitz back in 1993 - my grandmother emigrated from Krakow & left many relatives behind - I don’t know, and may never know, if any of my maternal relatives lost their lives during the war.................My visit to Auschwitz was so very moving............someday I would like to go back to the land of my ancestors............

13. I visited the reconstructed Dachau.  Physically it resembeled a Boy Scout Camp. It required looking at the photos and using your imagination to feel the horror. I was just out of the Marines & VNam and traveling alone—this was 1967.  I looked at Germans in their 40’s and 50’s and wondered.

    I was just a young man, but I began to put my experiences in combat together with what I saw here; and I concluded that, when someone rips the lid off of Hell, no trumpets sound to warn you.

This guy is terminally stupid.  He’s got the U.S. Army just over his western border.  He’s got the Israelis so worried that they’re preparing to nuke him.  Even his “friends” are telling him to cool it and he still keeps threatening and taunting the rest of the world.  Who’s going to launch the preemptive attack - U.S. or Israel?  I’m betting that the U.S. looks the other way while the Israelis “remove” selected parts of Iran.  They’ll take severe criticism for doing it, and they’ll be threatened or attacked, but they’ll be doing the rest of us a big favor. 

    Of course Iran, could change course and join the civilized world, but that would be expecting a lot.
