George and Trump ought to be partners. I’d short that endeavor sight unseen.
Imagine the Apprentice and the Yankees crossed.
Oh wait ... nevermind.
One of the classic anti-Yankees cheers goes thusly:
F**k the Yankees! F**k ‘em all!” Rinse and repeat.
Before the Derby, most of the bettors talk centered around two things: the Boss’s horse Bellamy Road (he had blown away the competition at the Wood Memorial by 17 1/2 lengths AND tied the time record, so in that sense the talk was warranted) and Nick Zito’s FIVE horses he had entered.
Not only did Bellamy Road not win, NONE of Zito’s horses finished in the money. And the payout on Giacomo was a staggering $102, second largest in Derby history.
But that’s the Derby for you. Always full of surprises.
(As a side note, it’s being reported that Bellamy Road popped a splint in his left front leg so he’s out of the Preakness Stakes and questionable for the Belmont Stakes)
