Myths About Gun Control

  1. frank - Just had a protracted conversation about ugly gun laws with my cube mate this noon. He thinks that ugly gun laws work! After all why do I need an assault weapon? I don’t but I do NOT want my right to the choice to disappear. Once the guns go, it is too easy for the rest of the freedoms to disappear.

And too right, the only ones who will have assault weapons when they are banned are the criminals who don’t give fiddley ---- about the law anyway!

Remember the bank robbers who shot up downtown LA some years back? The cops were outgunned. But I somehow doubt the bank robbers would care that their riffles were outlawed!

  2. New York City, Washington DC, Chicago, Illinois; all shining examples of gun ban failure. When you ban private ownership of firearms, you hang out the welcome sign for thugs and murderers. And soon San Francisco will become the next “lemming” community. Trampling on those portions of the Constitution with which they take issue, while dreaming up conditions and “rights” they think should be in it, seems to be rare sport for all the aclu types.
Lord save us from touchy, feely asshats.

  3. You can add London, England to that list. Their gun violence has gone up since banning all handguns throughout the country. The net result is that all law-abiding citizens are unarmed and the bad guys have [Surprise] kept their guns and know where to get more.

I understand that Canada is going through the same shit. One of the marks of a “progressive” is that they never learn. There’s always something or someone else to blame for their utopian ideas falling flat.

If doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results is a mark of insanity, the “progressives” are all certifiably insane.

  4. Perhaps all the “ists,” (feminists, gun controlists, leave it to the policists, etc) should read “Armed and Female : Twelve Million American Women Own Guns, Should You?” by Paxton Quigley. Quigley was on Robert Kennedy’s staff and was instrumental in getting the first gun control laws passed. But then she was how they did not work and has turned quite around.

Her story of the University of Florida, Gainsville, gun training event for women is hillarious.

  6. I’m just a heavily armed Pacifist.

Prefer the M1911A1, but the Glock 19 or Ruger P-89 will work when needed.  Like the HK-91 better than the AR-15, but i glad to own them both.
