  1. I do not think you are cold hearted.
These are the same (Muslim)-type people that hated us-U.S. last week.
Screw-em, Call the U.N. and tell them “Thanks for all of your help in Iraq”
I am sure Bill Gates will be glad to help out in India.

  2. Alan,

As a point of fact, any person that lives on within 100 miles of the Gulf or Atlantic coasts is stupid enough to live where the shit hits the “nature fan” (in the form of hurricanes) with far more regularity than earthquakes and tsunamis hit this particular corner of SE Asia. I guess those included among your definition of stupid would be me, you, and at least 100 million other Americans.

That said, odds are that a decent number of Islamic terrorists were killed by the tsunami, so some good came of it.

  3. CY, the difference is that after a series of disastrous tidal waves in the 1960’s, the US installed the world’s most sophisticated tsunami detection system on the ocean floor around our country. We are prepared. Those folks had rather spend their money buying weapons to fight each other and attack non-Muslims than protect themselves. THAT is stupidity.

  4. Confederate Yanke is right.  Lots of al qaeda sympathizers live in western Indonesia and Phillipines.  The man upstairs just may have averted the next martyrdom operation.

Allan, you are being a bit cold hearted because (of course you’ll diagree) these population centers in the coastal areas of southa Asia were well established centuries ago, waaaay before we know what we now know about tectonic plates and shit.  It’s unreasonable to suggest that all these millions of people should have packed up and moved when they found out they were in the danger zone.

The MSM is covering this disaster with the underlying tone that USA is somehow responsible for the high death toll.  That is bullshit of course.  Indonesia, India and Thailand are all doing quite well these days and can supply more than enough aid to the people hard hit.

  5. Let’s also not forget there are shitloads more people on the planet now, too!  And people are attracted to water.

Hmmmm, Could our attraction to water be like that of a moth to a flame........tempting fate...tempting fate...getting closer...getting closer...circling....circling...OOOPS!!!  Too close!  Time to die!
