1. Police here carry a guidance card that warns them, “suspects cannot be handcuffed ‘just’ because they pose a danger to police.” You just could not make that up.  What kind of insanity is that?  And speaking of insanity.  I’ve been watching this once proud country little by little ceding its sovereignty to unelected bureaucrats in foreign countries.  They can not deport criminals and even terrorists, if there’s a question of their “human rights” being violated in some way by their home country.  Britain is sadly bound in many ways by the European Court of Human Rights (and abuses).  That doesn’t say anything positive about their sovereignty to me.  take a look at this

2. That homeowner was arrested, right? That’s always how it goes over there in crazy land.

   Glad your back is a bit better. Back pain really sucks, I know.

   I’ve been slogging along, posting things that look interesting when I can. I looked at our blog stats; the linger time is up from an average of 48 seconds per visit to 52 seconds. Gosh. I guess that means people are reading things more, and it also explains why we only gather 2 to 4 comments a day at best, even though we’re seeing 1200-1500 visitors.

   I’m thinking of turning off the sign-in thingy again. I can’t make the Captcha gizmo work, but without feedback it all feels like I’m yelling into the wind. Maybe having spam and trolls is the price you have to pay.

3. Hey there must be something going around - hubby went through the same thing just recently - I didn’t know back pain was contagious.

   The Binman thing - just so like liberals - want everyone to recycle everything and then refuse to pick up because of one thing. Our recycle guy is hit or miss - if he doesn’t pick up - we just dump it into the garbage bin - don’t have the money to rent another recycle bin because he’s too damn lazy to get out of his truck.

   What did the homeowner kill him with? I know guns (even those you find under bushes) are illegal - but yes cmblake is right - he’ll be going to prison soon.

   Yeah, the medical news is just so twisted - just wait - there was a ‘study’ that everyone over 55 should be on medication (probably financed by some Big Pharma in need of more politician buying funds) - except that they did not study literature on medical conditions stats or even real people. They used a computer model - hmmm, now where have I heard that one?!?

   I meant to send a get well wish - but haven’t had time at all lately. So I guess I will just say that I’m glad you are feeling better.

6. Wardmom, thanks much. To answer your question, the homeowner stabbed the intruder who was carried out by his friends and left on the street. Happily he died but unhappily the home owner was arrested for murder.  I haven’t followed up the story so don’t know if that has changed by now.
