“May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you’re dead.”

  10. I have enjoyed his comments since i got addicted to this site, my thoughts go out to his family/friends. Maybe this might help them in their time of grief.........®

....grief is like the wake behind a boat. It starts out as a huge wave that follows close behind you and is big enough to swamp and drown you if you suddenly stop moving forward. But if you do keep moving, the big wake will eventually dissipate. And after a long enough time, the waters of your life get calm again, and that is when the memories of those who have left begin to shine as bright and as enduring as the stars above.

  12. One method of honoring Kerr would be buying phone cards for our troops in Iraq & Afghanistan, so they can call home for free. But anything The Skipper decides (aside from the ACLU[forgive me Bob]) is OK with me.

  13. Bill Kerr sent me an address if anyone wants to send a card-or I could send one from all of us.

  15. Twerp-
Could you please send me the address, Bill sent me an email, but there is no mailing address for cards,I think it would be neat for them to get a bunch....you know a group one and then if anyone desires to send a seperate one...I bet his Mother would appreciate it too....

Oink...should a thread be started for contributions/ donation suggestions to honor StinKerr in some way?I am a bit afraid the ideas will get jumbled in with everything on the main comments...just a thought

p.s. i hereby recommend we nominate YOU as the person to begin the thread, gather ideas, etc...since you will be GREAT at it ....Quick!! somebody SECOND Oinks nomination !!

  18. Scotland The Brave
Hark when the night is falling
Hear! hear the pipes are calling,
    Loudly and proudly calling,
    Down thro’ the glen.
There where the hills are sleeping,
    Now feel the blood a-leaping,
    High as the spirits
    Of the old Highland men.

    Chorus:

    Towering in gallant fame,
    Scotland my mountain hame,
    High may your proud standards
    Gloriously wave,
    Land of my high endeavour,
    Land of the shining river,
Land of my heart for ever,
    Scotland the brave.

    High in the misty Highlands,
    Out by the purple islands,
Brave are the hearts that beat
    Beneath Scottish skies.
Wild are the winds to meet you,
Staunch are the friends that greet you,
Kind as the love that shines
    From fair maiden’s eyes.

    Chorus:

    Far off in sunlit places,
    Sad are the Scottish faces,
    Yearning to feel the kiss
    Of sweet Scottish rain.
    Where tropic skies are beaming,
    Love sets the heart a-dreaming,
    Longing and dreaming
    For the homeland again.

    Chorus:

    Towering in gallant fame,
    Scotland my mountain hame,
    High may your proud standards
    Gloriously wave,
    Land of my high endeavour,
    Land of the shining river,
Land of my heart for ever,
    Scotland the brave

  19. Amen.

Not to be morbid, AND I have no indications or plans for ‘assuming room temperature’ any time soon, BUT I’ve told my Son whom to email IF.  Maybe a good idea for you?

  20. Not too far off-topic—Yeah, I asked “Where the hell is the old Dude” a year ago, before you logged back on.  You may remember that, sadly, I sent you the same question about Bob, in a private email.
