Certainly other versions of Goin’ Home exist. Jane Froman did her own rendition too around the same time. I think Froman had a much more powerful voice.

1. Deanna Durbin was 19 years of age during the production of IT STARTED WITH EVE which was filmed in 1941 (her first movie after her marriage to Vaughn Paul). Deanna turned exactly 20 on December 4, 1941. Her real name is Edna May Durbin (not Mae as many wrongly think). 2. Well gosh, thanks for tracking down all your links ASAP. And thanks for the info. Yup, there are quite a number of youtube clips she’s in.

   She was quite unusual for a Hollywood star. She was immensely popular; there were even Deanna Durbin dolls for sale. And then she just walked away from it, forever, and never looked back. Which tells me she’s a lot smarter than the typical actress. Made her fortune and then got on with life. Didn’t buy into that Big Star aura thingy. Good for her.
