  1. You don’t say why - and it’s NOMB anyhow - but I DO have a bit of advice…

If you really anticipate multiple moves in a short time, a good option is to rent a container for storage and “move” only the bare necessities.

There are a number of companies who will bring a container to you.  You fill it and lock it, and they haul it away.  When you want it back, they bring it to wherever you say - you unload and they take away the empty.

Not only is this a GREAT way to move, but it’s also a great way to handle MULTIPLE moves without having to handle stuff multiple times.

    HTH…

  2. Good advice. Nobody does more “temporary move” than a stagehand, it’s what they make their living off of. And one of the most consistent things those guys live by is “only touch it once.”

  3. Yeah I’m with them if you are going to move again in a short time. When we got here I thought - Thank God this is it (29 years of moving every couple of years - Yeah it got old) - but apparently the bug is in me for good. While I love this place - the sloping backyard, tiny garage and having to go downstairs for laundry just isn’t my cup of tea.

So next year when my hubby graduates - I am really rooting for a job that takes us away (the property taxes also suck big time here - my son & his wife are buying in TN (Ft. Campbell) 3 total stories, newer, 2 times the square feet yada, yada, yada - and their taxes are the exact same as ours - sucks to be us) from this little slice of heaven.

Although given size, etc - if we stay - we will be mucho easy to stay under any government whinnie’s radar - so it would have it’s perks - in that sense.

  5. We moved 10 miles up the road, family of 4 using a dodge grand caravan, quite a few trips but 10 days without busting a gut (and luck with weather) good luck!

  6. Self employed is tough Darrel, Er Drew, but I hope you can hook that gig none the less.I know how you feel with the “Is there another Job in the wind” thing and it does get a bit unnerving on occasion.
Best of all,in the time your hangin out in the new flat the real estate market just might crater a bit more with how the economy is cruising along toward that shiny iceberg.
