How can you post this and then not link to the video. This is a great song
Great Snook
I seem to remember from my early childhood that Little Boxes was a protest song from way back when. Protesting the death of individuality, from the job market to housing developments (aka Levittown). It’s all about being against the Man, man.
That is a good link though. thanks.
The original song was done by Malvina Reynolds, a Berkley girl from 1938 who was an unrepentant RED. She was part of Pete Seeger’s crowd in the mid 60s. Not sure if I ever met her; I don’t think so, though I saw enough of him as he was very strongly involved in the projects to clean up the Hudson (hey, not all treehuggers projects are nuts. They made tremendous strides and stopped some really evil polluters. in 1969, m’kay?) and we were always boat-centric people, with Nyack NY on the river just 2 towns over.

I just used the reference because I was a bit overwhelmed by the cardboard containers.
AND we will be doing the thickest part of our move - which we are trying to do in 96 clock hours start to finish with time for sleep and work in there too - during what could be the WORST part of hurricane Sandy coming right at us. Jeezly Peezly, I can catch a friggin break. EVERYTHING happens in one never ending cascade. Maybe I can sleep in for Thanksgiving or something.
