  4. If only Uncle Sam would get rid of most of the Anti Gun laws we all could have at least one of them and they would be much cheaper.

  5. Robert Heinlein said, “A heavily armed society is a politesociety.”

    Works for me.

  6. Thank you so much for the lovely sight of barrels in the morning!  Now if I could only have piped in the quaint, piquant smell of cordite, my coffee would taste sooooo much better!

  8. Hey Macker, that was only for those (mostly stateside stationed!!!) who were too incompetent, lazy, or weren’t allowed to keep their gear working. The stateside folks turned most of their maintenance over to the shipyards and local weapons shops instead of doing their own work.

I was in Japan and we did ALL of our own stuff including work the GD/GE reps swore we’d need yard support for (like replacing leaking hydraulic swivel boxes in the gun mount base). We had better than a 96% uptime record even though we spent more than 300 days a year away from home. You get really good when you’re under pressure and on your own. I was always rather proud of our abilities and accomplishments under difficult conditions.

  9. What is this thing called?  What is it’s caliber?  It’s combined cyclic rate?  Since it
is mounted on a tripod, I assume that it can be used in the field.  It looks like it could
give a small squad the kind of firepower to take out a company.  I want one!  Just think
what a good deer rifle it would make!  You could kill the critter and make venison
    sausage in one easy step.
