  1. I say “Let ‘em fight!”

  2. Just a minor editorial correction, Skipper..."The Little Old Lady from Pasadena” was done by Jan and Dean (Dead Man’s Curve, Linda, Ride the Wild Surf)- not the Beach Boys. A picayune point, but we should strive for accuracy....

  3. Yes, Jan & Dean originally did that song but the Beach Boys made it famous when they covered it on the “Beach Boys In Concert” album (1964). Nit-pick, nit-pick, nit-pick ....

    LOL

  4. Let’s see ... 2005 - 1966 = 39. 18 + 39 = 57 and 30 + 39 = 69. Hey, these Raging Grannies WERE young smelly hippies from Berkley in their day. They probably smell worse these days, but their outlook hasn’t changed a bit.

  5. Kinda reminds me of the old Monty Python “Hells Grannies” sketch.

No Harleys, just canes and walkers - and a lot of bad ‘tude… cool grin

  6. Sorry, Skipper.... Gotta disagree. Jan and Dean at the definitive version which charted as a single. While I am sure the Beach Boys did honor to it, it wasn’t a hit in my neck of the woods.

  7. A-HEM!!
If folks had listened to ME immediately following 9/11/01, ObL would have been well “taken care of” - *I* suggested that a platoon of us former WMs {Women Marines}, those of us going through that delightful time of life known as pre-, ante- & post-menopause, receive the requisite firearms training {on the NEW stuff}, be air-dropped into Afghanistan - WE would capture ObL alive - send him to a secret, out-CONUS detention for 6 weeks {gotta keep the ACLU happy, doncha know?} - keep him valium’d - and FLOOD his system with estrogens {you know, those feminizing hormones menopause screws with?} - this would cause a diminishment of his facial & body hair - enlargement of his chest region - SEVERE shrinkage & atrophy of his pendulum parts - about 5 weeks in, give him the ‘permanent makeup’ treatment {basically, tattoo eyeliner, blush & lip color} - at 6 weeks, load him up on valium, put him in a hooker halter, hotpants & come-get-me shoes - toss a burqa over him, with the mesh eyeslit - then drop his sorry a$$ back at Taliban Central ................... wonder what his “loyal followers” would’ve done with him?
We WMs {current and former} can be EVIL l’il witches!

  8. Hey Diamond Mair - I like your style!!!  I think that would work. grin

  9. I say let them too! Next time they stage a protest in front of the recruiter office walkout with some Military Volunteer forms and let them fill them out. Sure they can’t do combat but they can serve!  I seriously doubt they would expect that!  The whole point of their protest is to replace their children and grandchildren and to protest the war.  If you give them what they say they want but don’t really want, they’ll STFU and go away!  Or you’ll have some new ‘lunch ladies’ serving chow in a mess hall or ringing up retail items in a PX, etc.

  10. The wife of one of my ER physicians served in Desert Storm as a 56 year old grandmother - She was in the reserves at that time & was called up to serve as a nurse in a field hospital ..........Elena couldn’t weigh more than 100 pounds & to see pictures of her with full military gear was a sight to behold..........I have always been amazed at her ability to perform her duty to our country...........She is now retired from the reserves but has said if needed she would be ready to serve again - she is now 60+..........I know that I couldn’t begin to do what Elena has done................

  11. Diamond Mair- I came within TWO *^%@#$% weeks of becoming a WM AND I’m going through perimenopause-um -early.
The HUSBAND-USMC 1982-86-says I seems to have a permanent case of PMS.
I volunteer!*looks evil-and sad that she didn’t pack the gear to be a WM. That hurt will NEVER go away*
