Most Ridiculous Item Of The Day

  1. My problem with Wal-Mart is that they are China’s eighth largest trading partner. They do more business with the communists than nearly every country on Earth. And, for the most part, that cheap Chinese shit ain’t worth buying anyway.

Posted by Rev. Rokky    United States   09/13/2005  at  09:47 AM

  2. These people claim to support the “little guy”, but they can’t stand Wal-Mart, where the little guy shops, and in some cases, works.

    It baffles me.

Not only that, but UFCW is evil.  My mom is in that union (she works for Osco Drug as a federally-certified pharmacy technician), as is Barb, and they bioth say that it’s evil.
Heck, it broke away from AFL-CIO because they didn’t think it was liberal enough.

    I thought Teamsters was bad.

  3. *Just got back from shopping at WalMart* Heh.

Calling cards donated by WalMart meant my husband was able to call home on his last submarine deployment. Supplies donated by WalMart helped my husband and his command get through said deployment.

Like OCM said, Wally World rules and I CAN’T WAIT till our Topsham, Maine WalMart’s renovations are completed Oct 12th for the grand opening of our very own SuperWalMart!

  4. There’s going to be a Super Wal-Mart out in Country Club Hills, IL in a couple of years.  I can hardly wait.

  5. Hey Skipper, your trackbacks don’t show up ...

Posted by rightwingprof    United States   09/13/2005  at  10:52 AM

  6. I don’t buy the Chinese shit either, OCM. I do shop some at Wallyworld, mostly for groceries. No high horse here, either. I just don’t like their Chinese trade arrangement.

Posted by Rev. Rokky    United States   09/13/2005  at  10:53 AM

  7. We will just use the Chinese for low cost consumer goods for our consumers.

Then we will ship the unions to China and distroy their economy when it’s time.

Next year, Chery starts importing their inexpensive Chinese cars to America.

Let’s don’t ship the auto unions to China till I get a Chery.

I understand they are of the quality of a BMW, but for half the cost.

GM and the UAW.  Like the Skipper says, “Let them eat each other alive.” snake

  8. Trackbacks are a problem from some blogging software. I have no idea why.

Chinese “shit” is no worse than the Japanese “shit” we bought back in the 50’s and 60’s.

Regardless, a union really sucks hard when they can’t even man their own picket lines and instead hire temp “strikers” and pay them less than the jobs they’re protesting. American unions are about as useless and obsolete as the Democratic Party they support.

  9. Loser GM CEO Wagner is calling for Socialized Medicine, the hozer.

He wants to dump untold billions of retirement health care liabilities on the backs of the American taxpayer.

Newsflash Today: This year through June, GM has lost $2.5 billion in North America, prompting Chairman Richard Wagoner Jr. into his own face-off with the UAW.

Wagoner urged Gettelfinger to renegotiate health-care provisions downward for GM’s 1.1 million employees, retirees and dependents, including nearly 100,000 in Indiana.

Wagoner also apparently angled for union consent on assembly line closings that would reduce GM annual production capacity by about 1 million vehicles—or about 20 percent of its 2004 North American output.”

GM cars are now made in Canada so buy a Honda because they are American made. flag

  10. Ya beat me to it Jen.
For those of us poor souls who work for Albertsons et al-it’s be part of the union or work elsewhere. Ill-ANNOY isn’t a right to work state.
    Big surprise there, I know.
The UFCW left the -AFLCIO?-that big union-because it wasn’t leftist ENOUGH!!
    GOTT IN HIMMEL!
All that union is good for is swiping 7 bucks from my paycheck each week.
    And I’ll shop where I want-especially WalMart.
They’ve got a great petites dept.

  11. Jen-what about the Walmart they’re building at the old Busy Bee location on Halsted?
It’s just a regular Walmart but it’s GOT to be better than the K-Mart near me.
*evil grin because only Jen understands the local references*

  12. Alright Barb! No secrets! Confess! What are you gals up to?

    cool grin

  13. I hate it the way people are forced to shop Wal-Mart.  Such a shame that everyone in my Putnam County is walking around with an extra $20-$50 in their pockets each week.

I have two complaints with their stuff:  1.  What is that crap they inject into their meat???  It tastes like salt substitute—I won’t buy it.  2. They don’t retire their produce when it’s gone over to the dark side. You gotta check every bag and bunch, very carefully.  3. They don’t carry anything more exotic than Velveeta Cheese.  I couldn’t find Matzo during Passover for Christ’s sake.  And I’m Catholic.

(that’s only two, right OCM? ) joint

  14. Barb: Halsted and what?

Posted by Macker    United States   09/13/2005  at  11:03 PM

  15. Macker, I’m going to go out and say Halsted and 189th-the spot is either cosidered Homewood or Glenwood Illinois.Busy Bee was HUGE (flower) nursery that moved .

‘Cat, Jen is U2Warrior. We met when we both worked at a Wendy’s in 2001.
Being that we live in the same area if I describe something as being near the ‘Bou(for example) she’ll know where I mean-but “you” won’t.

Oinkster my pet-I work in produce-Jewel not Walmart as mentioned above-and I’m so thurough with my quality checks that I’ve encountered dead YELLOW JACKETS!!! hiding in a bad leaf.I wouldn’t have found the little-er, buggers-if I wasn’t pulling bad leaves or the whole veg if necessesary.
The hell I’m willing to go through for you people.
    sheese. wink

  16. Right on about the meat - I only buy hamburger from their meat dept. For steaks or roasts I go Krogering.
On a side note - When the local Walmart first opened, they had cashiers at every register. You didn’t have to wait long for checkout. After 6 months or so, they cut back to cashiers on about 6 of the registers, even on the busiest days. It takes forever to get out of there now. But the prices are good, so…

Posted by Rev. Rokky    United States   09/14/2005  at  10:16 AM

  17. News flash, Z Woof: They make Hondas in Canada too. I worked for one of their suppliers and we shipped to Canada several times a day (and night) as well as the Honda Assembly plant here in Ohio. (subframes, front beams, pedal assemblies, etc.)

All of the U.S. automakers make cars in Canada as well as in the U.S. Some model lines are made in the U.S. some are made in Canada. They just swap ‘em back and forth. It’s a leftover from the days when American cars were built and marketed under different model names in Canada. Anybody ever see the Ford ‘Meteor’?

Does anybody take into consideration the $4.2 billion that GM spent in buying into FIAT (Fix It Again, Tony) then buying their way out of a bad deal? It seems to me that some bad business decisions played a part in what’s going on at GM. They bought into the deal for $2.2 billion and bought their way out of it for $2 billion. It ain’t all the UAW doing it, much as they’d like you to believe that.

I go past the local Wally World and go to Meijer down the street. Although I did hit Wally World when I couldn’t find ice cube trays in Meijer. They were cheap but didn’t come with the recipe book.LOL

    Alright, are we gonna have a “name OCM’s ( ... )” contest?

  18. Barb-
I said that they were building a SUPER Wal-Mart in Country Club Hills.  It’s going to be on Cicero and 170-something, across from where the Austrian Ski and Sport Haus (a Bavarian restaurant that no longer is) used to be.

I don’t know anything about the new Wal-Mart on Halsted.

But what I DO know-if it’s anything like the one in Matteson-it’s got to have a better selection than ANY K-mart any day of the week.
