  1. This scares the shit out of the rest of the world: that we can take targets out...without the use of nuclear weapons! This is why the Islamofascists strive to develop nukes.

  2. Ooooohhh! I like this! A generation of 12 ga shells, pump or auto shotgun, come up with something with a good ballistic coefficient,4-600 yd, ... NICE! And peiper, I heard about this in the blogosphere. Only place you can actually find stuff out, huh?

  3. The problem with the really big kill stuff is that every least little skirmish is now subject to being instantly critiqued by civilians via internet. Thus as a PR move, the US is trying to get closer and closer to Heinlein’s “left-handed redhead” standard.

  4. I read another article recently which sounded like SciFi. They claimed British Aerospace has a contract from the US to develop miniature flying devices which are insect size but carry a small explosive. The idea being that you send these into caves etc. and the explosive is just enough to kill the occupant. It sounds too good to be true but I am hopeful the men in white coats have developed such ingenious devices!

  5. When I saw the “smart” munitions being used in the first Gulf War, I was impressed.  The idea that a smart bomb could literally be steered to hit a helicopter in flight was just… astonishing (as I recall the pilot was admonished for ‘inappropriate use’ or some such twaddle.

But it was sad, in a way.  When a single plane can plant two bombs at each end of a bridge, or put one in your building, or, practically, in you back pocket… it’s all over.

    Now these!

I have often observed that ‘Americans make Love, Money and War’ better than anyone on the planet.  With these in the arsenal, we’d better invest some time and money in foreplay and investments to keep things balanced.

  6. A lame, but telling, joke that came out of Desert Storm:

    Knock knock…

    Who’s there?

    Ka....

    Ka who?

    Ka BOOM!!!
