  1. Ah the fun white stuff is still coming down (started about 7:30ish this AM) and it is still cold out there. It is supposed to be at least 2 inches by evening rush hour and up to 6 by morning (tee hee, hee - we all here would love to work (and get paid) to be wrong so much of the time) - our school systems closed at 5AM (i.e. - no schools opened) - without a single flake falling. And oh, btw, they changed it from ‘snow’ days to ‘calamity’ days. I hate the liberals and city living.

We are all tucked in tight - if the snow continues I doubt hubby would have classes tomorrow - so it will be a long weekend.

I worry about water a bit - but more about power outs - we have no fire place.

  2. Things have warmed up a bit here in NJ, as they often do when snow is in the forecast.

This morning it was merely just below freezing, so I took my coffee out on the balcony. It felt like Spring compared to what it’s been like this past week or so. We’re up to 38 now, so I might go see if I can unstick the damp mop that froze to my trunk last week.

  3. Is Poole close to the Winchester area Peiper. I have a couple of online gaming buds who live in that area.Havent heard from them in awhile. As for the Oregon report the Portland /Vancouver area is just windy and cold with rain every other day or so. Had one brief 24 hour snow last week but its gone with the wind.
Oh Scarlet, I miss you soo much.

  4. My wife and I moved January 2008 following retirement to Pullman, Washington (state), USA.  Southeastern part of the state where it gets cold and snows instead of the near perpetual gloom and rain on the coast.  Our first two winters we got several feet of snow.  This year, very little.  It does get cold at times (minus three degrees f this winter), though.  We’ve been told when it really gets cold you need to keep one faucet running.  Not a large stream of water, just enough to keep the water moving through the pipes.  It hasn’t gotten cold enough to need it but with your almost exposed pipe you might try it.

  5. Rich, Poole is about an hour west of us. Maybe a bit more. Used to be a fishing port, now tourist.  http://www.vrpoole.co.uk/

It’s in Dorset which is a very pretty part of the country. At least the small area I was in 25 yrs ago was nice. Who knows these days.  Gee, I might go back there again this summer now that you remind me about it.

  6. The cold is clamping down yet again.  I hope people in the south are all being extremely cautious, as that is where they are not used to it.

This is nothing more than God laughing at the Anthropogenic global Warming belivers.
