Actually, this is the stuff of dreams…
One day, Americans will grow weary of this, as they did of welfare, and abolish foreign aid, tell the Third World kakistocrats that the gravy train doesn’t stop here anymore and provide aid directly to people, not governments. For the present, President Bush might solve Ian Egeland’s moral problem by being more generous with the suffering people of South Asia, and taking the money, dollar for dollar, out of this year’s contribution to the United Nations.
The day these things happen will be a happy day, indeed.
I was just listening to Boortz and learned that even though Kuwait has a budget surplus (how the hell does THAT happen!), they are only pledging $10 million.
Now let’s see...Thailand has the largest Muslim population, Kuwait is a Muslim nation, yet we, a Christian nation, are donating in excess of $350 million? Something ain’t quite right.
Well, holy crap!
I forgot to mention that Kuwait’s surplus is $10 billion!
