  1. There are very few things I admire about Arabs. The way they treat thieves, murderers and rapists however, is one of them.

Now this is “the evolving standards of decency that mark the progress of a maturing society.”

Someone contact Justice Kennedy ASAP please!

  2. If our society is maturing, might one ask the good Justice if he will do us the courtesy of maturing along with it?

  3. Or one might ask him if our society is maturing, why does there continue to be murders, rapes, robbery?  Personally I do not see the criminal element maturing at all.

If our society wants to reflect an evolving standard of decency, we should do so at the ballot box. Not at the whims of some liberal fairy SCOTUS justices.

  4. Amen to all of the above. If SCOTUS wants to cite “international law” in their decisions, who decides which international laws they read. Oh, never mind. I get it. They only cite the international laws that agree with their bullshit philosophy, i.e., Justices Kennedy and Ginsberg.

  5. The Muslims are correct about us in at least one aspect.  Any place where old people are afraid to leave their homes is barbaric.  Chew this over:  crime causes poverty—yes I got it in the right order.

  6. I don’t think I care to much about whether or not it is a deterrent. It’s called “punishment”, and we should make the punishment fit the crime. What Bijeh got was fitting to his crime. If the punishment in some way stops others from committing the crime, then YeeHaw that’s great. But if the punishment doesn’t act as a deterrent, then keep doing it anyway as the criminal brought this fate down on his head by his own actions. I’m a strong believer in an eye for an eye. Inhuman punishment for inhuman behavior doesn’t bother me in the least.
