Why is the West so quick to commit suicide? Christians have to tolerate cartoons, insulting stand-up comics and over-the-top TV shows that continually put us down as stupid, deranged, and prejudiced.
Guess the difference is that our Prophet really did preach tolerance and understanding while the other one preached jihad and slaughter of all those who disagreed.
Still in all, I refuse to believe that Christ wanted us to commit cultural and religious suicide.

Can we award these folks a ”BM In Perpetuity” (a double meaning there) and move on to lesser Barking Moonbats for our other awards? Who could ever exceed them for gut-wrenching pathos and hilarity? What I can’t get over is why these people (and I use the word “people” loosely here) are so determined to piss off everyone who could wipe them off the face of the earth.

Almost too many things to comment on here. In practical terms, Hamas now gets to see how the rest of the world considers lunatic murdering thugs. Yes, I think the Euroweenies will continue their funding - no one wants to remember Chamberlin and Hitler. Side note, I hear that Hamas and Fatah are already shooting at each other - maybe they’ll save the rest of us the trouble.
Oh yes, “Religion of Peace”, would somebody please explain in a way that makes sense how a religion that bows to the Original, One and Only God (same as Jews and Christians) justifies killing Jews and Christians in God’s name? This last applies to other folks as well, but the Muslims are the flavor of the week.

I see only three possibilities. Either they are born fools, or they actually want to be wiped out, or they are insane enough to think that they are proof against all comers, thanks be to Allah.
I’d tend to put my money on the last choice in most instances.
Short Note:
Hamas is asking Israel to change the Israeli Flag. The two blue bars represent the Jordan River and the Mediteranian sea. Since Israel shouldn’t be there (according to Hamas), the blue bars have to go. I quess the whole concept of Israel’s existance offends them. hmmmmm, lessee now, a democratic, secular state, with equal rights for all, is offensive to Islamic Militants. Got that? Now, don’t tell me that this is George Bush’s fault!
Speaking more carefully, yes, they do believe that they are fighting for a holy cause (bad news). They are also counting on the Western democracies to be weak, gutless and accomodating. Why is their belief in God so critical? Very simple, as soon as you say: “Gott mit uns”, you will happily commit any atrocity and bear any number of casualites up to and including complete annihilation. That’s what makes these wack jobs so dangerous. They can be killed, but it will require near genocide to do it. Better if we can find a way to undermine their religious underpinning. Failing that, let God sort them out. Half my family is Jewish and I’ve been following the adventures of Hamas and their equally perverted brethren for nearly 50 years now. I’ve no more patience nor tolerance for trying nuanced solutions to the problem.
The “religion of peace” thing is a bad translation. It is really translated as “the religion of submission”. They submit to their god and expect everyone else to submit too.
Understand that and the rest starts to fall into place.
Oh, and I’m still pissed that we’re funding these creatures at all. Let’s put a stop to it. We’re funding our own destruction, for that is their eventual goal.
