3. Guy- whoever inserted your catheter “blew up the balloon” - it only takes 5ml to blow up the balloon enough to stay in the bladder - I do it all the time.........You would be surprised how grateful my elderly male patients are when they come to the ER in urinary retention - they are so uncomfortable from not being able to pee for whatever reason that once the catheter is inserted & the urine starts to drain they are so much more comfortable & so thankful for the procedure!!!!!!  And they certainly don’t care that it was a female doing it!
