  1. Wombat Casserole

    1.5kg Wombat meat
    1 can stewed tomatoes
1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 pkg. baby carrots
    6 potatoes, quartered
    1 small pkg. lentils
    1 can tomato juice
    Sliced celery
    Onions
    Green beans
    Method:

Place all ingredients in casserole dish and cover with foil. Bake at 180 degrees celsius for 12 hours. Eat hearty.

Wombats are a protected species throughout Australia

Shame they’re a ‘protected’ species. That just means they’ll be extinct shortly. But encourage them as a commercial protein source and they’ll be extinct when cows are extinct.

  2. TWELVE HOURS???!!!???

Wombat must as tough as old bear paws. No wonder they call it bush tucker - by the time it’s ready to eat, you’re tuckered out from all the work. Pass.

  3. Gosh Drew. I thought you’d be upset that I had a wombat recipe. All you can bitch about is the time to cook wombat? Outback might have mixed up cooking in the field with cooking in a crock pot.

Would I cook a cute little wombat? Depends on how desperate I am. Wouldn’t be my first choice.

Nice thing about raising chickens: no matter what, they aren’t cute.

We had a problem when Dad tried to raise bunny rabbits for food. I like a nice rabbit stew myself, but we kids kept adopting them as pets. And we didn’t want to eat our pets. Though, in an emergency, I’m sure that would be ignored.
