  1. The MSM is not only terminally ill, it’s terminally stupid. According to Wizbang, WaPo, confronted with a precipitous decline in paid subscriptions, convened a focus group - and could not give away free copie of the paper. If the participants could read it for free at work, good. But none of them would pay for a subscription. And the LA Times, NY Times, and the AJC have the same problem. But someone at WaPo has the right idea - It’s the fonts they use!! Couldn’t be that most people have them figured out, no!!!

  2. The MSM:  A dangerous anachronism, a guild whose day is gone.

    wink

  4. I’m with you on this, OCM. The extremes of either side are totally unappealing. Some are downright scary and I hope they never get their hands on the levers of power. I have always voted a split ticket, although I haven’t always voted.

I consider myself to be an independent right leaning centrist and those cute little tests online tell me that I’m left leaning. It must be my attitude about the BIG hot button issue of the times. I’m afraid to use the word, ‘cause I don’t want to start a war.

What the main parties don’t seem to understand is that their continuing extreme attitudes drive more people away than they attract and the rest of us are reduced to chosing what we consider to be the lesser of two evils.

The problem with the MSM is that they also like to consider themselves to be ‘middle of the road’ and ‘objective’. This, of course, is the furthest thing from the truth. If they’re lying to themselves, there is no reason to believe that they’re not willing to lie to me.

I’d rather get my information from someplace that makes no secret about their basic biases. That way I know for sure where they are coming from and how they’re coloring the information they publish.

I respect a news organization that is willing to print the unvarnished truth, especially when it is not good news for their side and against their particular basic biases and I am more willing to believe them.

I have my own biases: I get pissed off at anti-Americanism for the sake of anti-Americanism. The BBC, Reuters, al Jazeera, many AP writers (no, they’re not journalists, they’re writers) and some big U.S. papers seem to fall into this category.

The most disgusting are the Americans who are willing to bash their own country because of the outcome of free elections. Live with it and try to do better next time. That’s how the system works and I’d think that these supposedly educated ‘news’mongers would know that better than anybody else.

  5. Just ran across this this at LGF. Now the LATimes are editing wire service stories to eliminate the facts that exculpate Americans.
