I seem to remember reading what part of Maine’s problem is. Sudan refugees chose Maine for the ‘liberal’ welfare benefits. The article I remember was how enough Sudanese refugees had moved into at least one Maine town to take it over. The refugees kept bringing their family, friends, etc.
Yup Christopher,
The “foreign National critters” are welfare shopping just like in Europe. Many arrive in Greece, Italy or Spain (where the law says they’re suppose to remain) but then find out the UK and Ireland are handing out money and benefits twice or three-times what they’re getting. So, they head off to the lands of milk, honey for: children’s benefits, lone parent benefits, housing benefits, fuel allowances, clothing allowances, learning-disability allowance, home-carer’s allowance, etc, etc. and hefty weekly payouts at the post office (in cash) to boot.
A family of “asylum seekers” can receive as much as $100,000 per annum if they play the game right.
I watched the local alphabet news for the weather one evening - they used in back-to-back ‘news’ stories the phrase - The New Economy and also declared in the second story - that unemployment will remain at 8.4% during 2012 - first the local unemployment is nothing close to 8.4%, even in a liberals dream and secondly - how can anyone not see the repetitious indoctrination going on - the tv time has drastically reduced in this house - as FNC crossed the last line in the OIF final withdrawal story by Jennifer Griffin using the liberal meme - ‘President Bush stood in front of a Mission Accomplish banner but of course it wasn’t for a long, long (endless war) time’. We are out of Iraq on a GWB negotiated withdrawal plan - We still have troops in South Korea and Kosovo - aren’t those UN debacles true endless wars?
Btw (ot, sort of) - WI Judge not only ruled that Mickey Mouse and Adolph Hitler can vote to recall Gov Scott Walker - but there are new allegations that the Unions bought signatures from old recall lists - imagine that the Union cheating to win. Who’d thunk that? They did it here in Nov on the repeal of SB5 - but perhaps I was the only one to notice that the OH Constitutional Amendment to opt-out of Obamacare - passed by the same percentages! I guess the Unions don’t want Uncle Obama’s wonderful healthcare but prefer the private (and paid for by taxpayers) healthcare - sort of like the crapweasels in DC.
