  1. So once again I resurrect my famous Rachael Corrie poem that I spent long seconds writing - many years ago.

Dingbat (To the tune of “Ringo")

-with apologies to Don Robertson & Hal Blair: ASCAP

She lay face up in the Gaza sand
Clutching a peace sign in her hand
Squished from the front, she looked really flat
But her friends said her bosom was always like that
Picketing the ‘Cat, she couldn’t be seen,
and, with engine noises, no one heard the scream - of Dingbat.

    Diing-baaat,
    Dingbat!

Now, a ‘Cat D9 weighs four or five tons
And your typical Dingbat weighs almost...none.
The ‘Cats got armour, the ‘Bats got meat
So the ‘Cat will pulverize the ‘Bat complete.
But the ‘Bat should be happy, not sad or glum
‘Cause once and for all, ‘Bat and earth....are one - Go! Dingbat.

    Diing-baaat,
    Dingbat!

  2. Nice work, even if I’ve never heard the tune Ringo before. Have I? Memory going at my advanced age.

  3. Ringo was a sixties tune narrated by the guy from the TV show “Bonanza” - Lorne Greene.

    Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9sIPW9twl0

  4. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to listen to ‘Ringo’ again. Thanks Mr. Magoo er McCool...er Steamboat.  cool

  5. Again? Once was twice too often. That was positively wretched. Especially since the video kept cutting to that pic of Greene as Adama.

  6. You shoulda been there in the sixties, Drew, with it playing on the radio a dozen times a day! Although - thank god - we were spared “Adama”.

I didn’t choose to parody that song because it was a favorite - that’s for sure!

  7. I wonder how Edward James Olmos would have fared with that tune....

  8. Referring to the post “Nice Try Suckas), is anyone surprised (besides OCM) that the Hamas terrorists are hiding weapons under “humanitarian” aid?  Is anyone besides the Israelis noting that the aid in the flotilla only equaled about 1 day’s worth of aid from Israel?  Does anyone care that Hamas is refusing to accept the aid now that the Israelis have removed the weapons?  Is anyone curious just how long a list of these rhetorical questions I have?  Trust me, it’s long.

Is there anyone left who doesn’t fully understand what kind of rabid dogs the Palestinians are?  Self defense against bloodthirsty terrorists is not a crime.

  9. For weapons, begin here.  The cash and other bits made sense, but I am personally curious about the night vision scopes and flak jackets.  btw - I took the link from BMEWS “Nice Try Suckas”

    You call that humanitarian aid?

A couple of minutes with Google will show that the Israeli Government made attempts to have the aid pass through an Israeli port where it would be then sent to Gaza along with all the other international aid the Gazans receive.  The flotilla is nothing more than a publicity stunt designed to capitalize on the unspoken Antisemitism of the world community.

Israel is unique in the world.  When they defend themselves, they are accused of aggression.  If they build a wall to divert traffic through check points and filter out terrorists, they are accused of apartheid (I think the people of Arizona understand this one).  When they trade land for peace, they get neither land nor peace and the world thinks that just.

  10. Air strike, avoid the incident.
