I must ask again - Murtha is a “war hero.” He has a purple heart and a bronze star, I think. But what for? I have not read anything about his service. Was he a desk jockey in Saigon or a combat marine? Hey, even John Kerry was a combat commander, tho he did his damdest to avoid it and his best to get out once in there. Still, he performed under fire.
What did Murtha do?
Isn’t Murtha going against his defense contractor pals on this one? What has he to gain? I haven’t seen anything so far. Let’s try to get away from bombastic language like “slandering the troops.” Is it “supporting the troops” for Cheney’s Haliburton to reap millions in Iraq? Calm down. Defense dollars are distributed to nearly every state in the nation. BTW: anti-war isn’t the same thing as “anti-defense.” I was “pro” war in Afghanistan, for example, but not for the war in Iraq. It’s one thing to respond to terrorists and route them out of their hiding places but the link to Iraq was tenuous...at best, we’re at “cake” or “no cake.” The issue for me is: who wants to die for this war? Not many Americans, which is why we are asking our guys to go back again and again..exposing them to death unfairly even for soldiers b/c we can’t recruit enough fresh troops. No one in DC has kids fighting it...The situation in Iraq was bad, but equally bad and more dangerous was destablizing the area and unearthing ethnic conflicts that are difficult to quell in even the best situations. We’ve got to balance idealism (or finishing George Herbert’s work,) with pragamatism...or what we will have is a boondoggle. It looks more and more like this is the situation, though god bless the Iraqis..we certainly can’t abandon them, but we’re in a fine mess.

Just one simple question and you may have to go back through news papers and blogs to research this question..........................Has anyone seen a picture of a democrat or rabid liberal with a smile on his/her face? It seems to me that they are always frowning or scowling...............why is that???????
Murtha licks camel balls
Mamacita, actually Murtha is being a perfect Dem/lib on this stab the soldier boots on the ground in the back (ala Kerry, McCain) while padding the pockets of himself and other dem friends/family. It is called being a hypocrite. Which Murtha is big time. Because also [ala Kerry] screeds for the President to ‘release’ his military records while hiding his own. . .guess what’s good for the Republican goose doesn’t serve the democrat gander at all.
Haliburton had the contract in Afghanistan and CONGRESS voted to slide Iraq into that contract (not a no-bid, secret, back door deal or whatever euphemism that reporters can make up) for speed to assist what was thought to be another fast War. So let’s punish the Administration’s decision because no one forsaw Syria and Iran fueling al-qaida/terrorism in Iraq in the 3 months after we were successful to overthrow the Saddam regime. Just the capture of Abbas (achille lauro highjacking leader) was found and captured in Iraq - that alone is enough connection to al-qaida and terrorism and making OIF worthwhile for me. And oh by the way - let’s just forget that Iraq has violated 16 UN resolutions since their 1991 surrender - how long do you want them to get to rebuild their army, weapons, develope more/advanced wmd, kill their own people, invade other neighbors - comeon how long do we leave Iraq/terrorists to build up where it is a bomb, chemical weapons - not airplanes used on American people?

No one in DC has kids fighting it..< try reading something other than left wing propaganda - the Army has met or exceeded recruiting goals since the War started and re-enlistment is over the top (truth, one quarter was under goal in 3 years). Try Sen.Tim Johnson, Rep. John Kline, Rep. Todd Akin, Rep. Duncan Hunter, Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, Rep. Ed Schrock, Rep. Joe Wilson for starters of someone in DC who has a family member serving - and since the media just doesn’t want this truth out - those are just what I remember finding - I’m sure that there is more.
I am not anti anything - I am Pro-Victory as I love living as an American, I love being American and I understand that the terrorist people have only one desire to throw the WORLD (starting with America) into a 3rd century Islamic slave state. . .Not while there is a breath in my body. Support them? Think I’m being extreme - go live somewhere else. Don’t trash the Commander in Chief with lies, damn lies and twisted logic while dismissing that the enemy we are fighting is out to rule the world, if not stopped.
