I had a conversation on this subject (not this specific case), with a prosecuting atty. in our church Sunday. Something had happened closer to home and I admitted to him that if it had been my kids (earlier) or my granddaughter, I would be in jail right now.

I was sexually harrased in a class my Jr year in HS.
Some jocks ran a broom btwn my legs-like I was being raped by it.
The rest of the class and my teacher laughed.
The school administration said that I was exagerating-after all since I was “the retarded girl that could sing"-yes, that’s what I was called-I couldn’t be telling the truth.
My parents did nothing either.
My father thought it was funny and probably asked me if I liked it(My father had some weird ideas)
I’ve been out of HS 17 years and still haven’t forgiven those who stood by and laughed when they should have been protecting me from the constant abuse I had to deal with daily.
I lettered in track my Sr year-my coach was the above teacher-and being a letterwoman made that last few months of HS almost bearable… but still.My heart crys out to that poor girl… and wishes nothing but hell on those that hurt her/stood by.

I was very surprised to learn that Allan would go Hannibal Lecter on the swine who did this, because that is VERBATIM what I said the second I finished reading the story yesterday. But then I made the slurping sound afterwards.
If that were my daughter, I would make like the killer in those Scream movies, terrorizing the pigs while they died.
Seriously, I would kill them. Go ahead and call the cops now. I would kidnap them and kill them after raping them with various household objects. I’d look in their eyes right before they died and show them what power REALLY is.

This is repulsive. If that were my daughter, I’d probably also be in jail right now, since I would make those boys, and all who watched and did nothing, suffer.
ALT, I’m sorry you went through what you did in school. I don’t know your age, but when I was growing up, I remember teachers excusing the bad behavior of some boys by saying “oh, he only likes you.”

Why does this not read “HAS BEEN FIRED AND IS LODGED IN JAIL FOR CHILD ENDANGERMENT”?

There is solid evidence and the term “suspect” no longer applies. Damn, this stuff makes me angry!!!!
The boys who were involved need introduced to prison life, as does the principal and any administrators/teachers who knew about it and did nothing....
That being said, had that happened in my comminty… there’d be a number of new admits to the emergency room and critical care facilities....

Hmmmm .... loks like we found a real hot-button issue. You all know how I feel. I have repeatedly stated that pedophiles and child abusers should be tortured to death slowly and then dipped in acid to keep this disease from spreading. This is my personal crusade. I despise anyone who would harm a child in any way whatsoever, especially like this.
I was never molested as a child and never witnessed it while growing up .... except when I was a tiny little baby (which is another story for another day, concerning an abusive father and horrible nightmares that I still have to this day). It is just something that has always made my skin crawl.
Nothing should interfere with a child’s growing up process. Period. Any kind of hateful or harmful behavior toward a child should be punished swiftly and painfully.
It doesn’t matter as much what we as adults do to each other because we know how to fight back bit children???? I’m sorry but I draw the line there.
Yes, I’d go Hannibal Lector on the whole damned bunch if it were my daughter and that includes the principals and anybody who witnessed these acts.

Allan you are too kind....and as for me, I don’t eat diseased meat. Sniper rifle, with scope, night vision equipment as needed. And time.....There would be at least 3 fewer school officals (starting with the principal) and 4 fewer *boys*, and a selected number of fewer bystanders. I would not lose any sleep over it, and sending scum to hell accomplishes a couple of things.
1. saves the state/court system money and time.

As someone not born in the US or never having resided there, I have to state the thing that shocks me is the demoralizing coverage of your talk show host Howard Stern (toname one) in regard to people with disabilities, how he makes fun at their expense and people think it is amusing.
Also, I wondered if this was acceptable on network coverage, how it would change the views of the young and impact upon their choices in life as how they are to respond/react. I know I digress from the article but I have a funny feeling that if the mockery, implied sexual deviancy etc expressed on these types of shows are viewed by children, what is going to be acceptable social interaction tomorrow?
Barb it is sad to hear you have suffered so much during your years, but yes, like you during my school years, incidents like this occured, however, I have always been super fiesty and refused to kowtow to anyone, no matter the risk to personal safety.
AOF: you missed a lot of news here lately on that subject. The Bush administration has started cracking down on that kind of crap on TV and radio. The FCC last year fined Clear Channel for Stern’s content and Stern is jumping to satellite radio to get out from under FCC regulations, where I suppose he will continue to broadcast the same tripe - but who will listen?

I read this in this mornings newspaper - I can’t believe that the school officials did not call the police or the girl’s father “to avoid a confrontation with the suspects” or cause the girl “further mental trauma”. Worse, the paper reports that the girl is developmentally disabled.........I hope that father takes those school officials to court and gets all of them removed from their positions. I also think those boys involved should be prosecuted under the full extent of the law.
Barb - I’m sorry to hear what you went through as a child.............I was never sexually abused but my brothers and sisters and I were frequently physically abused by our mother - whenever we did something she did not approve of, we were whipped with a leather strap - it was called a “cat o nine tails” & I can visualize it to this day........Due to this trauma I almost found myself wanting to do this to my own children but was able to hold back................Now with my beautiful grand-daughter I have so much patience and love that when she misbehaves I can reason with her and resolve the issue without even thinking about resorting to any kind of physical violence............This little girl brings so much pleasure to me that I am a much better person for having her in my life............Posted by Dottie

This makes me so sick, angry, just....I feel almost speechless. There is no word other than “coward” that can describe these poor excuses for organized protoplasmic matter. To prey on the weakest, most defenseless members of society is beyond imagination.
All you that want to shoot them, save your bullets; that is too good a demise for these scum. Nothing surpasses the gratification of a beating met out with one’s bare hands. While going Hannibal on them sounds good, I like the imagery from Pulp Fiction: “...some hard, pipe-hittin’ brothas (my edit) with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch...” As for the administrators who tried to keep this hush-hush, wait a while, then plan an “accident” for them. A 1 mm hole drilled or a slight kink producing a crack in one of the brake lines will get them out of the driveway and down the road a ways, then....brake pedal to the floor, and hopefully into a busy intersection or over a cliff.

the technical term is “emotional molestation"-kind of a clothes on sexual abuse.
I used to joke that the only male attention I could get was from my father.
Since the family members I confided in either1.said I was lying or 2.said I deserved my father hitting on me- by the time that incident happened I was programed to believe that I was getting what I deserved anyway.
My mother’s apologized for her inaction and my father died in Nov. of ‘01.
I’m almost starting to miss him a little now.

should be fired, sued, property confiscated to pay restitution to the victim, then forced to remain in the community as a registered sex offender for all good citizens to ridicule.
The assistant principal who recommended the father not act.................
should be fired and publicly asked to apologize to the victim, then run out of town.
The three assistant principals who did nothing........................
are guilty as accessories after the fact, should be tried, sentenced to prison time where child rapists have the life expectancy of a cockroach. A room mate named ‘Bubba’ who was abused as a child should be assigned as their first cell mate.
The camera toting student..................
is guilty as an accessory after the fact and should receive the same treatment as above. But, thanks for the evidence!
The four boys........................
are guilty of rape and child abuse and many other crimes. They should be tried for their crimes. When found guilty the same cell mate, ‘Bubba’, should be done with the assistant principals!
Child molesters are raped in prison because:
1. Most career criminals have been sexually abused as children and do not tolerate those who could have been their abuser.
2. Career criminals kill those same child molesters in quite cruel ways because, ‘Hey, what’s another life sentence?’You can tell the state of a society by how it treats the weakest of it’s members. The weakest of our members, our children, must be protected.
ALT - Don’t feel alone in what you went through, lot’s of us were sexually abused as children. It does not make it easier to deal with, but time can help. I too was a victim. It still bugs me, at times, to this day, and I am quite a bit older.

All personal fantasies of vengeance and justice aside, the fact that nobody...NOT ONE PERSON...who was there did anything to stop the RAPE of this poor girl. It is a sad statement on the lack of values these kids have. Makes you wonder about the parents and their lack of values. This is becomming a generation of Lord of the Flies.

Then tatoo their crime on their foreheads with a dirty needle.
