  2. These are the nutcase Donks Skipper. Minimum Wage increase aside, I think what we’re going to see those first 100 hours is a lot of hype, smoke, mirrors, and handwaving. It will get lots of positive press of course. Then it will just fade away. Much ado about nothing.

The fringe elements on both sides can often be ignored. God knows the GOP ignores the true conservatives, fundamentalists, and strict constructionists as hard as they can. The Dems will pay lip service to their mentalists and introduce many idiot measures as bills, knowing that they will die in commitee. Just like Rangel and his Bring Back the Draft.
My guess is that the Dems will get the wage increase and maybe a couple other minor things passed. After that it will be 2 years of lame duckiness.

The problem I forsee is that the Dem fringe is much larger than the GOP fringe; we’ll have to keep after our few remaining guys to stay awake.

  3. “I think we do need to pay attention. People are begging us to remember the Constitution, what made this country great...,” said Carol Shea-Porter of New Hampshire, an incoming House freshman who ran as an ardent opponent of Bush and the war.

Hmm, what Constitution would that be?, the one written by the Founding Fathers or the
“living document”, i.e., subject to revision touted by these lefty whack jobs?.  crazy
